CARE Lived Experience Collective members: Chloe

Hi, my name is Chloe Cannon

I am a young person with Learning Disabilities and currently live independently in an Extra Care facility called Penllew Court in Aberdare with my own self efficient flat that I rent. I am very close with my friends who we have built our own little community with in. I am also very close to my family as well. I am also the Ambassador for it and have been after I shortly moved in.

I am the chair of the Steering group of the Regional Partnership Board as a paid member of staff for RCT People First (formally Cwm Taf) with this role I have quite a lot of responsibility to make sure that people with lived experience and Learning Disabilities and will continue to do so for the rest of what I consider my Career.

The reason why I joined CARE is because I wanted to be the voice of the voiceless of those with all disabilities and help them get the word out there that we want to have our time and get the help and support we want and deserve. I am definitely proud to be part of the lived Experience Collective and couldn’t think of a better group of people to work alongside.
