Centre for Adult Social Care Research establishes Practice Advisory Forum

The Centre for Adult Social Care Research (CARE) has hosted its first meeting of the CARE Practice Advisory Forum.

The Practice Advisory Forum brings together professionals, practitioners and carers from adult social care, serving as an advisory group within CARE.

Its role is to provide feedback and guidance on adult social care research topics and priorities through individual and collective expertise, ensuring research remains relevant to adult social care in Wales.

Members represent a range of services and organisations across Wales including mental health services, residential and nursing care, domiciliary care, dementia support, long-term health condition support, adult safeguarding, and social care for a range of needs including hospital support, learning difficulties, disabilities, neurodivergence, homelessness, addiction, and moving on from children’s services.

The CARE Practice Advisory Forum will provide a platform for collaboration between researchers, social care professionals and practitioners and carers, enabling the sharing of insights from practice to inform and shape research priorities. It will foster a culture of learning, encouraging all members to deepen their understanding of social care research, ultimately improving research and impact in adult social care in Wales and beyond.
